Minister To Lam chairs conference of three Steering Committees

DALAT - Central Highland Steering Committee and Lam Dong People's Committee held a conference on September 30 regarding issues of Northwest, Central Highland and Southwest Steering Committee.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam co-chaired the conference with Head of the Central Highland Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Northwest Son Minh Thang, Permanent Deputy Head of the Southwest Nguyen Xuan Tien.

The conference saw the participation's of over 100 representatives from the above three Steering Committees (TSCs) and leaders of Ministries, etc.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister To Lam said the results in implementing tasks and duties from the conference of July 2015 of TSCs will be assessed. The participation spent major times to discuss about regional links and the key role of TSCs in advising, organising and coordinating the development of regional links.

In addition, leaders of Vietnam News Agency reported the communicating coordination in the Central Highland, the Northwest, the Southwest and signed collaboration agreement period 2016-2020.

On behalf of TSCs, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Highland Steering Committee highlighted the outcomes of TSCs from July 2015 until now. Accordingly, the promotion of trade and social security has been strengthened, contributing to the development of the 3 regions. Plans for transport, infrastructure, irrigation, prevention of natural disasters were promptly proposed.

However, the related authorities should intensify all aspects to reach expected effects.

At the conference, representatives proposed solutions, orientations and duties of TSCs in the time ahead, aiming to develop economy - society, ensure national security, religion, etc.
