Minister To Lam holds talks with Minister of Home Affairs of Cambodia

• Vietnam, Cambodia promote cooperation in security and crime prevention
• Cambodian Party official suggests continuous cooperation with Vietnam
• Vietnam attends fifth sea festival in Cambodia

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam welcomed Mr. Samdech Krolahom Sarkheng and the high-ranking delegation of the Home Affairs Ministry of Cambodia to pay a working visit to Vietnam and attend working sessions between the two sides. He also hoped that the delegation will achieve positive results during this working visit.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam briefed results of the implementation of the cooperation plan in 2016 between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Cambodia. 

Accordingly, the two countries exchanged many useful information on ensuring national security, social order and safety, and preventing crimes, especially criminal crimes, drug crimes and economic crimes.

Amid the current complex situation of the region and the world, Minister To Lam underlined that the two ministries should continue exchanging information on various issues relating to the two countries' interests and national security.

The two countries should also effectively implement international agreements and support each other at regional and international forums.

For his part, Mr. Samdech Krolohom Sarkheng thanked Minister To Lam for receiving the high-ranking delegation of the Home Affairs Ministry of Cambodia, and highly appreciated all achievements in cooperation activities between the two ministries.

He also wished that the cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two ministries in particular will further develop, contributing to maintaining national security, social order and safety in each country.
