Minister To Lam receives Australian Deputy Minister of Home Affairs
General To Lam, Minister of Public Security (MPS), on December 2nd, received Mr. Marc Ablong, Australian Deputy Minister of Home Affairs in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam welcomed Mr. Marc Ablong and the Australian high-ranking delegation to attend the 2nd Vietnam - Australia Vice-Ministerial Security Dialogue hosted by Vietnam. The host considered the second dialogue an important milestone in the long-term cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese MPS and the Australian Ministry of Home Affairs in the field of crime prevention and control.
Minister To Lam stated that the Vietnamese MPS highly appreciated the frequent sharing of police experience and exchange of information related to regional security and crimes between the two sides. He also spoke highly of the outcomes of the two sides’ implementation of the bilateral agreements. He hoped that the two sides would focus on discussing the agreed subjects and introduce more initiatives and cooperation plans for the coming time during the second dialogue.
He also suggested that Australia support and coordinate closely with Vietnam when the country resumes ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and becomes a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the period of 2020-2021.
Sincerely thanking Minister To Lam for the reception, Mr. Marc Ablong stressed that the Ministry of Home Affairs of Australia is always willing to cooperate with the MPS in the areas of mutual concern, especially in the sphere of crime prevention.
He affirmed that he would do his best to promote the Australia - Vietnam strategic partnership in general, cooperation between the two ministries in particular in the coming time.
