Minister To Lam receives Cambodian National Police Commissioner
PSNews - General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on September 18 received General Neth Savoeun, National Police Commissioner of Cambodia, leading a Cambodian police delegation to attend the 39th ASEANAPOL Conference in Hanoi.

Minister To Lam warmly welcomed General Neth Savoeun and spoke highly of the fine relations between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and relevant agencies of Cambodia in particular.
Minister To Lam highlighted that the MPS of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia have followed directions of the two countries’ leaders on expanding bilateral cooperation in crime prevention and combat as well as in promoting exchange of information and experience. Particularly, the law enforcement forces of the two countries along the shared borderline have coordinated closely in preventing and combating drug-related crime, smuggling, human trafficking, and settling complicated situations of security and order, facilitating the socio-economic development of each country.

Minister To Lam also wished Cambodia would support Vietnam when it takes the ASEAN Chair and non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council. The host suggested that the two ministries hold their regular meetings and coordinate in crime prevention and control, promote cooperation in training of officers and tighten the ties between border localities of the two countries.
General Neth Savoeun thanked Minister To Lam for the reception and appreciated the preparation of Vietnam for the ASEANAPOL 39. He wished the conference would be of great success.
He also hoped that the two sides would promote their coordination in areas of mutual concern, particularly crime prevention and combat, contributing to promoting the relations of the two countries and the two ministries.
