General To Lam, Minister of Public Security received Ambassador Pier Giorgio Aliberti, Head of the EU Mission to Vietnam, on September 30.
At the meeting, Minister To Lam congratulated Ambassador Pier Giorgio Aliberti on his new appointment as Head of the EU Mission to Vietnam and wished the Ambassador a success in his term of office.
Minister To Lam expressed his delight at the positive developments in the relationship and cooperation between the EU and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in the past time, and spoke highly of the joint organization of seminars on the Convention against Torture and international laws on cyberspace as well as of EU's support for Vietnam in preparing the Universal Periodic Review (UN-UPR) Report at the United Nations.
Minister To Lam expressed hope that the Ambassador will push forward the implementation of the Vietnam - EU Partnership Comprehensive Agreement (PCA) on cooperation on fighting against organized crimes, trafficking in persons, and illegal immigration as well as on counter-terrorism and cyber security protection.
Ambassador Pier Giorgio Aliberti thanked Minister To Lam for the warm welcome and affirmed that, in his working position, he will further promote the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam with law enforcement agenciesof the EU and its member countries
