PSNews – An inspection team of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), led by Minister To Lam, on October 18 visited and checked the operation of the Information and Command Center of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department.

Minister To Lam speaks after the inspection

Major General Dao Duy Khuong, Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department, briefed the Minister and the inspection team on the functions, missions and operation of the center.

The center was invested in by the MPS, and put into operation in 2011. It is equipped with a modern machinery system of various integrated technical modules.

In December, 2017, responding to new situational developments and increasing requirements of security and order protection, particularly prevention of illegal gatherings and demonstrations in the city, leaders of the city’s police decided to upgrade the Information and Command Center  comprehensively and fundamentally in terms of both organizational apparatus and technical equipment.

Over a short term of pilot operation, the Hanoi Information and Command Center has now well performed its functions, gathering and processing information in a sufficient, accurate and timely manner, helping the Directorate of the city’s police to effectively lead operations of the local police force.

The center also contributes to promptly and efficiently solving arising complicated cases of security and order, particularly the prevention and settlement of unlawful mass gatherings and demonstrations in the city, as well as ensuring traffic order and safety, urban order and facilitating crime prevention and combat.

Speaking at the meeting with the leaders of Hanoi police, Minister To Lam asked the Hanoi Municipal Police Department to continue to upgrade the center to facilitate the protection of security and order as well as crime prevention and control in the city.

Minister To Lam also urged Hanoi’s police to make good use of the center, collecting digital information and evidence in support of crime investigation, and the operation of the city’s traffic police, contributing to ensuring local security and order in the time to come.
