He noted that although facing complicated security developments in the world and the region, the DFR has actively and promptly advised the MPS leadership to conduct foreign affairs in accordance to the circumstances.

Regarding its key tasks in the coming time, Minister To Lam asked the department to thoroughly implement the Party and the State's guidelines and policies on foreign affairs, especially Directive 25 of the Politburo on strengthening multilateral foreign relations until 2030 and the strategy for international integration in the fields of national security and defense.

He also urged the DFR to work out on plans to concretize the upper levels' directions into foreign relations plans of the Public Security Forces, contributing to building a comprehensive and modern diplomacy service. The department should strengthen the public security foreign affairs sector for it can successfully protect national security and defend the nation from afar.

It should also contribute to creating and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, mobilize foreign resources for national development, and raise Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena. Finally, it should contribute to building revolutionary, professional, elite and modernized Public Security Forces.

The MPS leader also asked the DFR to actively advice the Party and the Government to ratify bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements regarding cooperation between the Vietnam Public Security Forces and law enforcement agencies of other countries.
