Minister To Lam works with Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police

PSNews–Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security led a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to work with the HCM City Municipal Police and Fire Prevention and Fighting Police.

Before the working session with the Directorate of the Municipal Police and Fire Police, Minister To Lam and his delegation visited and worked with the police station of Binh Hung commune, Binh Chanh district and Office of Criminal Police (PC45) of HCM City.

In Binh Hung commune, Minister Lam highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the local police force and authorities in ensuring security and order.

Minister Lam recognized that the police station of Binh Hung commune had overcome numerous difficulties, including its limited budget and lack of favorable policies for it but still successfully fulfilled the given tasks in the past time.

Binh Hung commune is home to more than 84,000 people, including65,000 temporary residents; 53 real estate projects, more than 3,000 enterprises and hundreds of restaurants and pubs.More than 2,000 foreign people also reside in this area. It used to be considered a complicated area in terms of security and order, and a safe haven of criminals.

During the working session with the PC45, Minister Lam praised the units for its deployment of various preventive plans and measures, to curb criminal activities of all kinds.

Working with the HCM City Municipal Police, the Minister stressed that Ho Chi Minh City is an important center of socio-economic development and also a venue of dangerous criminal activities.

Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, Director of the HCM City Municipal Police, said that the city’s police has investigated and cracked down on 397 criminal gangs, and successfully solved various serious and specially serious cases.

Minister To Lam applauded the efforts and outcomes of the Municipal Police and Fire Police in the previous year, urging the city’s police forces to continue to clarify the origins of their limitations and weaknesses and seek efficient solutions to the current situation.
