Ministry of Public Security, Microsoft team up to fight cybercrime

Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security on December 19 attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding and the Agreement on Government Security between the Department of Cyber Security and High-tech Crime under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Microsoft.

According to the deals, the Vietnamese side can use Microsoft high technologies in ensuring cyber-security and preventing and fighting against high-tech crime. Moreover, to the Vietnamese side can access information about cyber risks and network vulnerabilities, as well as receive support from Microsoft’s security team to prevent issues related to the group’s cloud products and services.

Additionally, Microsoft will provide cyber-security training for officers at the Ministry of Public Security, help Vietnam develop network security and share with the Vietnamese side cyber-security risks.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Minh Chinh, Director of the Department of Cyber​security and High-tech Crime, said that the deals would help the Vietnamese side strengthen the work of ensuring security and the fight against cyber crime and high-tech crime. He also believed that the cooperation between the two sides would be promoted for more fruitful results in the coming time.
