Ministry of Public Security continues funding housing project for poor people in Muong Te

The Ministry of Public Security, the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Party Committee and the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee on June 6 held a ceremony to hand over houses to poor people in the border areas of Vang San commune, Muong Te district, Lai Chau province.

The ceremony saw the presence of Mr. Giang Pao My, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Party Committee, and Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Recently, the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department has advised the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee to conduct a housing project in support of poor people with housing difficulties in Muong Te district, Lai Chau province.

So far, the provincial police forces have built 11 houses in the four communes of Vang San, Bum To, Ta Tong and Ta Pa. The project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2020 with over 1,000 houses repaired, or newly built for poor locals.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities and people, Mr. Tran Luu Quang handed VND 50 billion to a representative of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee in support of the housing project in Muong Te district.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang presented gifts from the Ministry of Public Security to the Muong Te District Police Station and the police of several communes. The Deputy Minister also visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of the Pa Ve Su Border Guard Post and needy families in Vang San commune (Lai Chau province).

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang thanked to the Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee as well as the Party Committee and People's Committee of Lai Chau province for their supports for the local housing program.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang hoped, the local authorities and people, especially ethnic minorities in Muong Te district, Lai Chau province will continue to support and join hands with the local police forces in repairing and building houses for poor people, helping them stabilize their lives in the coming time.
