PSNews -Recently, on the occasion of the 105th birthday of former Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc Hoan, a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, and the Nghe An provincial authorities and police paid a visit to his memorial house in Trung Phuc Cuong commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.

The event also saw the presence of Mr. Phan Dinh Trac, Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs; Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs among members of the Public Security Central Party Committee, leaders of various departments and units under the Ministry, and other delegates.

On behalf of the delegation, Minister To Lam vowed that the Public Security Forces will continue the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho, further study and follow the example of Comrade Tran Quoc Hoan and his thoughts on building comprehensively strong, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces to successfully complete all assigned tasks in the current situation.

Earlier, the delegation offered flowers and incense to President Ho Chi Minh at the relic site of Kim Lien village and visited Chung Son Temple at the Chung Mountain in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, where President Ho Chi Minh spent his childhood.

* On the same day in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Comrade Tran Quoc Hoan - Life and Career".

The exhibition is held at the place where he lived and worked from 1967 to 1981 with nearly 300 artifacts, photos, and documents.

The late Minister Tran Quoc Hoan (his childhood name was Nguyen Trong Canh) was born on January 23, 1916, in Nam Trung village, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. 

He was Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Hanoi city’s Party Committee from 1937 to 1939. In 1951, he was elected to the Party Central Committee. On May 2, 1952, he became Director General of Public Security Agency of Vietnam, and Deputy Minister of Security in the following year. 

He was later appointed and worked as Minister of Public Security until 1980. In 1982, he was elected to the Party Central Committee as Head of the Commission for Mass Mobilization. He passed away on September 5, 1986 at age 70.
