Ministry of Public Security hosts badminton and Chinese chess tournament

PSNews - The Department of Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security in association with the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department on October 10 kicked off the Badminton and Chinese Chess Tournament under the framework of the 8th Festival “For Homeland’s Security”.



The Organizing Committee offered flowers and Souvenir Flags to contest teams.

The tournament, taking place from October 10 to 15 in Gia Lai province, saw the participations of more than 1,000 police officers and soldiers from 86 police units of provinces and cities across the country. 

According to organizers, 62 teams have registered to compete in the Chinese chess event, which will be held at the Gia Lai Police Headquarter while the badminton event is taking place at the Gia Lai Sporting House with the participation of 75 teams.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Major General Dao Gia Bao, Director of the Department of Party and Political Work affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security's leaders have always paid attention to physical training, sports and fitness training movements across the Public Security Forces in recent years. 

As these movements help improve physical strength and drill in willpower and fighting spirit of public security officers and soldiers, especially those at grassroots units and combat units that directly fight, they make important contributions to protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.

From mass sport movements, a number of excellent athletes have been selected for domestic and international high-record sport competitions. 

Since the beginning of 2019, the Ministry of Public Security's high-record sports delegation has participated in 48 domestic and international sport tournaments and won 192 medals in various sport events such asPencaksilat, kick volleyball, Karate and so on.
