Ministry of Public Security reviews two key projects

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security held a video conference on May 28 to review the implementation of the two key projects on national population database and chip-based ID card (e-ID card). 

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

According to reports at the conference, the police forces nationwide have received more than 48 million e-ID card applications, reaching 96.3% of the set target. Many provincial-level police departments have excellently completed their set targets before the deadline.

Since the last video conference on May 7, the provincial-level police departments have paid due attention to collecting and processing residential data for the issuance of personal identification numbers.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc stated that during the implementation of the two projects, police officers and soldiers applied creative working methods and upheld their sense of responsibility for work and good attitude in serving the people.

Regarding the key missions in the coming time, Minister To Lam asked the directors of provincial-level police departments to mobilize forces and means to process data, while regularly checking the work.

He also asked the local police forces to strictly comply with the Ministry of Pubic Security regulations and instructions on ensuring security and safety of the national database on population.
