Ministry of Public Security to build 600 homes for people in Muong Lat

Accordingly, the MPS and sponsors will support Muong Lat District with 30 billion VND to build 600 houses for local households in need of housing. Each house is worth 50 million VND.
Muong Lat is a northwest highland border district of Thanh Hoa Province, located 250km from Thanh Hoa city. It shares 105.5 kilometers of border with Viengxay and Sop Bao Districts, Houaphanh Province, Laos. Over 95% of Muong Lat’s population is of ethnic minorities.
Located in an area with difficult terrain, harsh climate and natural disasters, Muong Lat is still the poorest district of Thanh Hoa Province with 3,262 poor households. Many local households do not have real homes but live in temporary shelters or dilapidated houses.
The program of building 600 solid houses for poor local people conducted the MPS and its sponsors would bring joy and happiness for not only the beneficiaries, but also the local Party Committee and authorities, as well all local people.
Under the schedule, the local authority in cooperation with local contractors will have completed 9 model houses in 8 communes and towns of Muong Lat District by March 21.
Based on the result of the pilot phase, the MPS and sponsors will continue the project in a more effective manner.
In addition to the support of the MPS, the authority of Thanh Hoa Province also mobilized other forces such as the army, the border guard, the fatherland front, and the youth union to participate in realizing the project.
