More public security health workers join COVID-19 fight in HCMC

PSNews – A public security health mission on July 5 left Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and other southern localities in support of their efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. 

24 doctors and nurses from the 198 Hospital and the Hospital of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Hospital, and the Thanh Hoa Provincial Hospital joined the mission.

Speaking before their departure, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Van, Deputy Director of the Health Department under the MPS and Senior Colonel Hoang Thanh Tuyen, Director of the 198 Hospital praised the voluntary spirit of the doctors and nurses who dare dangers to join hands with the authorities and people of HCMC and Binh Duong Province in the fight against COVID-19.

Captain Luu Thi Hop is one of 7 health workers of the Hospital of Traditional Medicine joining this mission. She said she had voluntarily registered to assist the anti-pandemic fight in Bac Giang but had not been selected. She feels very happy when being selected this time to join the mission. She is determined to fulfill all assigned tasks.

According to doctor Nguyen Xuan Dich, head of the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Hospital’s team, this is the first time his hospital has sent doctors and nurses to support other localities in the fight against COVID-19. The hospital has sent 5 health workers to join the mission this time.

Earlier, the MPS has decided to send an enforcement of nearly 90 health workers from Northern and Central public security hospitals to HCMC City and Binh Duong Province in support of the 30-4 Hospital in fighting the pandemic.

They will support the local health sector in vaccinating, taking samples for testing, and quarantining newly-arriving foreigners.
