More than 2000 people join fire fighting practice

PSNews - About 2,000 officials and workers at Bitexco Building, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has joined a fire fighting drill on November 16th with the HCMC Fire Police and relevant units.

According to the scenario, the Bitexco basement parking was on fire and more than 2,000 people working at the building were trying to escape from the burning building. The city’s fire police force has been deployed quickly to extinguish the fire.

People are guided to escape from fire

According to the assumed situation, while a 16-seat coach running at a high-speed from the basement B1 to the basement B2, it suddenly collided with a 4-seat car running up.

The crash made gasoline spill over, and the spark of the crash burst into flame. The fire then spread over the basement, burnt other cars.

Dense smokes and toxic gases rose high, threatening thousands of people working inside the building. This risked breaking glass door, pulling down the ceiling and even destroying the whole building.

Having received the information, the city’s fire police forces quickly raced to the scene. They cut off electricity and guided more than 2,000 people inside the building to move out to safety areas.

The fire kept flaring up, smokes and gases rose high and temperature increased, threatening lives of the people trapped in the fire area.

Fire police forces rescuing injured victims out of the fire

The fire police forces were mobilized to rescue victims on one hand, and the new technology fire engines were used to quickly extinguish the fire on the other hand.

About 10 units and hundreds fire police officers, soldier, and 12 modern fire engines as well as workers at the building took part in the practice.
