This resulted from the close cooperation between the Municipal Police Department and the Municipal Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in implementing the program “Enhancing the movement of all people protecting National Security in the new situation”.

In order to effectively implement the program, the Municipal Police Department and Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City drew up working plans and directed their sub-units to disseminate information and mobilize local people to seriously follow and support the policies of the Party and laws of the State; raise the people’s vigilance against the “peaceful evolution” strategy and sabotage activities of hostile forces

As a result, people in Ho Chi Minh City participated actively in preventing and fighting crimes and social evils, ensuring traffic safety, preventing and fighting fire and explosion. They also sought to report the police on information about crimes, as well as wanted fugitives, drug addicts, suspects, disguised prostitution sites.

Additionally, various crime prevention programs and movements, which were carried out in residential areas with the participation of a lot of local people, proved to be effective.

Senior Colonel Phan Duc Tuan, Vice Head of the Office for “All people protecting national security” Movement under the Municipal Police Department of HCM City, said that over the past 5 years, the cooperation program has contributed to mobilizing the joint strength of the political system and the people for the protection of national security as well as to ensuring security and order in the city.
