According to Colonel Phan Van Son, Head of the Muong Te District Police, Sergeant Major Ly Phuy Chong has always fulfilled his assigned tasks. In 2010, during a manhunt, Chong was stabbed by the wanted, and he had to undergo a big operation.

Everyday, Sergeant Major Chong has to go 52km to work. Then he has to walk from the district hub to many remote villages without a telephone network to support ethnic minority people during the flood season.

Currently, Ly Phuy Chong’s family live in a downgraded house whose roof can be blown away by storm. Meanwhile, his wife has no job, staying at home to take care for their 2 little children.

Sympathizing with his difficulties, on August 10, the Public Security Newspaper sent VND 50 million from the donation of the Motorola Solutions Foundation to Sergeant Major Chong, supporting his family to build a new house.
