Over 3,000 drug cases stamped out in areas along Vietnam-China border
PSNews-The Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes (C47) held a conference to summarize the information dissemination and suppression campaign against drug-related crimes in all Vietnamese localities along the Vietnam-China border and to launch its working plans for 2017.

In 2016, the drug combat police force all over the country overcame numerous difficulties and proactively cooperated with relevant agencies to effectively fight drug-related crimes. Particularly, the police force focused on investigating and stamping out major drug trafficking rings, and reinforcing efforts in complicated areas.
The police forces managed to identify and arrest wanted criminals, contributing to maintaining social order and safety in localities, and ensuring security and safety for various major political events of the country.
C47 directly or in cooperation with localities, agencies and units detected and investigated 147 drug cases, arresting 421 suspects and seizing over 135.000 kg of heroin, 10.05 kg cocaine, 93.424 ATS pills.

After nearly 4 months conducting the peak campaign against drug-related crimes in the Vietnamese localities along the Vietnam - China border, all involved forces, including C47, have successfully investigated 3,301 cases, arresting 5,062 suspects, and seizing 323.85 kg of heroin, 42.1 kg of opium, 100 kg of cannabis.
