The project to develop the bilingual dictionaries was initiated, conducted and completed by the Subcommittee on theory of ensuring social order and safety of the PPA.
These dictionaries were also contributed by high-profile and reputable scientists who are working within and outside the PPA.
The dictionaries were complied on the basis of the professional documents issued by the Government, Central agencies and Ministry of Public Security in Vietnamese as well as in English, French, Russian, Chinese, and Lao. The group of authors of the dictionaries also referred to a variety of reliable dictionaries, encyclopedias and documents in different languages.
Each dictionary, which has approximately 50,000 entries, which mainly explain terminologies about the public security sector, serves as a helpful and useful tool for teaching, studying, researching, translating and interpreting public security documents in English, French, Russian, Chinese and Lao.
After the launching ceremony, leaders of the PPA proposed the Center of Police Theoretical Studies in collaboration with relevant units to promptly publish and distributed the public security bilingual dictionaries to leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, its subordinate agencies and units, and public security schools.
