According to Colonel Nghiem Duc Quy, Deputy Director of the Professional Training Center under the Mobile Police Command, Dong An commune has mountainous terrains with steep and rugged roads, causing difficulties for transportation. But now, thanks to the effective assistance of the students of class D2-LK (a training course conducted by the People's Public Security Political Academy in association with the Mobile Police Command), the axial road through Dong An is cleared and extended to 3-4m while potholes have been filled up and leveled and 26m protecting wall has been built. Also, the road leading to Lam Trung hamlet is tied up with 10 stone blocks and extended by 315m with extra 4 culverts.
Besides Dap Dong and Lam Truong hamlets, during the mass mobilization drive, D2-LK students also helped people in Khe Can hamlet to build 500m of inter-hamlet roads, facilitating local people’s transportation.
During the 20 days, the 200 police students still maintained the police disciplines, regulations and manners to promote the image of policemen in people’s eyes.
They also supported a medical mission of the Heath Department under the Mobile Police Command to provide free health check for 394 people and gave free medicines to 194 people in the 2 hamlets. In addition, the students of D2-LK also coordinated with local police to carry out patrols to ensuring security and order in the locality.
Student Nguyen Tan Viet said, “From 3 to 6 students stayed with a local family so we used our free time to tutor local children apart from working with local people.” The image of young “police teachers” left a good impression on local people.
