PSF successfully stamps out a large drug trafficking case

PSNews – The Drug Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security (C47) on August 12 announced that a working mission of C47’s Division 3 on August 9 in collaboration with relevant units working on Hanoi – Thai Nguyen Highway successfully cracked down on a large drug case.

According to the scene, the mission while working on the highway that passing Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province stopped a truck running from Hanoi toward Thai Nguyen for a regular check.

After examination, the mission detected several unusual points on the roof of the cargo box. In particular, the truck’s cargo box was specially designed with a large space in between the two layers, which was covered by a canvas.

The mission then found approximately 51 kg of drug packed carefully in the space.

The truck’s driver Nguyen Van Dung (aged 33, residing in Chua Hang town, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province) said he was hired by a man in Thai Nguyen to transport 51 kg of heroine for 70 million VND.

Dung also said that the truck belongs to a man who hired him to transport the drugs from Hoa Binh to Thai Nguyen.

The Drug Police Department is continuing the investigation into the case.
