People’s Security University wins 2 championships in Vietnam Student Informatics Olympics 2016
The Vietnam Informatics Olympics for University Students is the biggest annual Information Technology contest for university students organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in association with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Vietnam Informatics Forum.
Since 2007, the Vietnam Informatics Olympics for University Students has been organized along with the Asian eliminating round of ACM/ICPC – an international programming competition, to select the best teams for the world final round.
In the individual event, each student with a computer is assigned to tackle practical problems in 180 minutes. in the international programing ACM/ICPC event, each team with 3 students have to tackle 10-11 problems written in English within 5 hours.
In 2016, the Vietnam Student Informatics Olympics drew the participation of more than 70 universities and 116 international programming ACM/ICPC teams, including 12 international teams from South Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore. The People’s Security Academy, People’s Police University, Public Security University of Techniques and Logistics attended the competition.
After the contest, the People’s Security Academy won a 3rdprize in the super cup event for students who had achieved national and international prizes at high school contests. The People’s Security University obtained a consolation prize in the event for students majoring in information technology.
The Public Security University of Techniques and Logistics gained a 3rd prize in the event for individual specialized in Informatics. The People’s Security University’s student Vo Hong Tang of class D24D1 got 99/100 point and won the champion while its student Phan Anh Huy of class D24A2 took 2nd prize with 93/100 point. This is the highest record that universities of the Public Security Forces have ever reached in this event of the contest.
