Police Investigation Authority reviews 9-month operation

The Police Investigation Authority under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a meeting to review its task performance in the past 9 months. Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the meeting.

Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Head of the Office of the Police Investigation Authority, highlighted that the meeting was aimed to forecast the development of the situation of crimes in the future, particularly new criminal tricks and methods of crimes, as well as operations of organized crime and transnational crime.

Delegates at the meeting also pointed out difficulties and challenges faced by the police forces, limitations in preventing and fighting crimes and solutions to the issues.

According to reports at the meeting, the police forces have well conducted investigation and handling of crimes over the past 9 months. The progress and quality of investigation of crimes, including major economic and corruption cases, have been improved. The police forces have cracked down on a number of large transnational drug-trafficking rings.

An overview of the event. 

Notably, Vietnam successfully hosted the 39th ASEANAPOL and the Ministerial Conference on Enhancing the Cooperation Effectiveness in Combating Transnational Drug Crime in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Police Investigation Authority and the whole police force in the past 9 months.

He also asked investigation police agencies at all levels to promote the efficiency of investigation and improve the quality of their basic professional work while focusing on classifying and handling reports on crimes.
