Police force of central provinces help local people respond to Hurricane No. 10

PSNews-Thousands of police officers of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces join hands with local people and other forces to tackle Hurricane No. 10 in an effort to minimize human and material losses.

With the aim of protecting the safety of police headquarters, barracks, key economic and political structures and centers of detention as well as ensuring safety for dossiers, documents, means and working facilities and minimizing the damages caused by storm, rains and floods, the police force in various localities have proactively deployed protective measures and formed inspection teams to check the prevention of the hurricane in important areas.

The police force has seriously implemented the protection plans with their high resolve, prepared sufficient supplies of medicines and necessities for police officers and local people when the storm landfalls the central provinces.

The police force has sent working missions to help local people harvest their summer-fall rice crops to avoid possible damages caused by the hurricane.

Police Departments of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri have mobilized over 1.500 officers and soldiers from various units to quickly evacuated local people from various vulnerable areas, and organized mobile dissemination teams to explain local people about the potential impacts of the storms on coastal communes.

Leaders of the central province police units have asked 100% of their officers and soldiers to be on duty from September 15 and to take necessary measures in case of emergency. Police officers in some localities also helped local people reinforce their houses, guided fishing boats to seek shelters, and be ready to respond to any eventualities.

The Water and Road Traffic Police has also been deployed to various places at high risks of flooding to ensure traffic safety and order.

In Ha Tinh province, the police force has cooperated with local authorities to succeed in calling over 6.100 fishing vessels with 17.676 fishermen to find shelters. By 5 pm of September 14, the Ha Tinh Provincial Police Department had managed to move 10,928 households with 47,400 people to safer places.
