Police forces in response to rainfall and flood situation

PSNews - The Standing Office of the Steering Committee for climate change response, disaster prevention and rescue under the MPS sent Official Dispatch No.17 - on October 31st afternoon to police units, requiring all public security forces to proactively respond to flood and rain.

The dispatch was sent to the Steering Committees for climate change response, disaster prevention and recue (SCDR), the fire police departments of provinces from Nghe An to Ninh Thuan; the SCDR of the General Department of Criminal Verdict Execution and Judical Assistance under the Public Security Ministry, the High Command of Mobile Police; the Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Headquarters, the Traffic Police Department.

The Standing Office asked the steering committees, fire police forces and local police units of the provinces to implement the following contents:

The forces seriously implement Offical Dispatch No.26/ CD-TW dated 31-10-2016 of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention under the National Committee for Rescue and direct local authorities to effectively prepare for rain and flood situations.

The forces should keep a close watch on flooding developments via mass media networks; review areas prone to flashfloods, landslides, be ready to evacuate people and properties to safe areas.

The assigned traffic control forces are to support people in water-logged roads and dangerous areas.

All police forces are ready to deploy efforts and assets when requested. Units should assign forces on 24/24h duty and regularly report situations to the Standing Office of the SCDR.
