Police forces obtain achievementsindrug prevention and fighting campaign in Mai Chau

PSNews-The Hoa Binh Provincial Police held a meeting to review one year of their implementation of the Conclusion by the Minister of Public Security; Phase 2 of Plan 365, issued on September 8, 2014 by the Provincial Police on fighting drug-related crimes in Mai Chau district.

In response to complicated drug activities in Mai Chau district over the past years, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the General Department of Police (G.D 2) and Hoa Binh Police have always given special instructions to the Drug-related Crime Investigation Police to coordinate with concerned forces in implementing plans and measures to fight against drug-related crimes.

Particularly, the prevention and combat against drug-related crimes in the two communes of Hang Kia - Pa Co, Mai Chau district has achieved many important results.

After a year of implementation of the Conclusion by the Minister of Public Security, functional forces have cracked down on 18 drug cases on the route of the 6A national highway, arrested 21 subjects, seized over 1kg of heroin, 9,328 pills and some 200 grams of synthetic drugs, as well as related 3 cars and 10 motorcycles.

In Mai Chau district, the police forces investigated 20 cases, arrested 29 subjects, collected nearly 200 grams of heroin, 1,347 pills and more than 200 grams synthetic drugs and one car. In the areas of Hang Kia, Pa Co, functional forces investigated 2 cases, arrested 3 subjects and 29.04 grams of heroin.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Duc Thinh, Head of Division 3 under the Drug-related Crimes Investigation Police recognized, appreciated and praised the results that Hoa Binh Police has achieved in the prevention and fight against drug-related crime in the past time. He also urged relevant forces to review, consolidate, strengthen and improve the effectiveness of their operations at the grassroots level especially in key communes.
