Police forces ready to respond to rain and flood situation

PSNews - The Permanent Office of the Steering Committee for Climate Change Response, Disaster Prevention and Rescue under the MPS, on December 6, sent Official Dispatch No 22 to police units, requiring all public security forces to proactively respond to flood and rains.

The dispatch was sent to the provincial steering committees for climate change response, disaster prevention and recue (SCDR), the fire police departments of provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Quang Nam; the SCDR of the General Department of Criminal Verdict Execution and Judicial Assistance under the Public Security Ministry, the High Command of Mobile Police; the Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Headquarters and the Traffic Police Department.

The MPS requires all public security forces to proactively respond to flood and rains.

According to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, from December 5 to 9, heavy rains and floods would continue in the provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Dinh.

To actively respond to possible floods and rains, the Permanent Office of the Steering Committee for Climate Change Response, Disaster Prevention and Rescue asks municipal and provincial police commands of climate change response, disaster prevention and rescue and municipal and provincial fire police units to:

Strictly implement dispatch 179 / TWPCTT issued on Dec. 5, 2016 by the Permanent Office of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, and the Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue; closely monitor developments of rain and flood from the mass media to actively respond to the situation;

Direct traffic forces to support people in water-logged roads and dangerous areas.

And assign and deploy sufficient efforts and assets on duty, regularly report situations to the Permanent Office of the Steering Committee for Climate Change Response, Disaster Prevention and Rescue of the Ministry of Public Security.
