Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Dieu

Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Dieu, Standing Member of the Smoking Control Committee under the MPS mentioned alarming figures about smoking in Vietnam.

In addition, Dr. Minh Dieu also warned about “newly-imported hobbies” popular among young people in Vietnam, such as Shisha, electronic cigarette (VIPE), which are advertised as non-addictive and harmless, but negatively affect people’s health.

In the Action Month for Children and the National Action Month for Domestic Violence Prevention and Control, the Women's Union organization of G.D 4 has selected the theme “Implementing the Law on Children and Prevention of Abuse and Violence Against Children” for the legal education drive.

Colonel Do Thi Minh, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union organization of G.D 4, recommended several solutions to bring the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention, and Law on Children into the real life.

These solutions include promoting information and law education to raise public awareness as the first step and then to change people’s acts in life; bringing into play the fine traditional values of the Vietnamese family; stepping up the building of cultural family and civilized lifestyle; and at the same time, take serious actions against acts of abuse and violence against children under the current laws.
