At 23pm, on June 23, 2016, while performing his assignment of struggling against illegal sand mining activities on the Day River, in Hoi Ninh commune, Kim Son district, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Tuan Anh and other members of the working group of the Traffic Police Division and the Environmental Police Division under the Ninh Binh Provincial Police discovered four illegal sand mining vessels.
The working group seized and asked the offended to run the vessels to the police station.
Due to the heavy load of sand and bad weather, a vessel with Lieutenant Colonel Dang Tuan Anh on board was sunk, and the policeman died.
On December 20, 2017, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 2053/QĐ-TTg on the issuance of the Fatherland’s recognition certificate to martyr of the People's Public Security Forces Dang Tuan Anh.
At the ceremony, all participating people felt moved and sorry for Martyr Dang Tuan Anh, who sacrificed his life for the people’s peaceful life.
