Project to improve capacities of Firefighting and Rescue Police reviewed
PSNews-On the afternoon of August 17, Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, presided over a meeting with leaders of People's Committees of some provinces on the allocation of capital sources to build barracks of fire prevention and fighting police units under a large investment project in improving equipment, infrastructure and capacity for the fire prevention and fighting and rescue police using Japanese ODA loans.

Present at the meeting were leaders of the Provincial People's Committees of Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh and Hai Phong; representatives of relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and provincial Fire Police Offices.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh announced the Prime Minister's approval of the investment project in improving equipment, infrastructure and capacity for the whole fire police force using Japan’s ODA loans. The MPS will prepare a pre-feasibility study report for the project and submits it to the Prime Minister for further consideration and decision on loans for the prioritized subprojects on improving operational capabilities of the fire prevention and fighting police. Meanwhile, the subprojects with lower priority will use domestic financial sources, including local contributions.”
At the meeting, the participants gave ideas and opinions, and agreed on the policy of calling on localities to support the construction of barracks of the local fire police units, in addition to the funding from the MPS. They also proposed solutions to difficulties for the project can be implemented as soon as possible.
