PSNews - The northern mountainous and northern central provinces have recently witnessed continuous heavy showers on large scale, causing floods and landslides, resulting in home collapses and traffic congestion.

As of October 13, 58 deaths; 38 missing; 31 injured; 189 collapsed houses and 30,827 submerged houses were reported.
In addition, 1,948 families had to evacuate from their home.
Unfortunately, all 17 communes and towns in Thuong Xuan district (ThanhHoa province) were flooded.
According to weather forecasts, Thanh Hoa may suffer another storm or low depression spell in the coming days, which could make the situation more complicated.
As forecasted, hurricane No.11 would directly land ThanhHoa province.

Local police units should closely follow the development of the storm, ensure safety of their offices, camps, detention and custody centers and reformatories and have plans to preserve dossiers, documents, means and working facilities of the police offices to avoid possible damages caused by rains and floods.

To help people overcome the consequences of the recent floods, all officers and soldiers of the ThuongXuan District Police have been deployed to the hardest-affected communes to repair people's houses and dredge mud at schools, and clear roads.
