Public Security Forces hold meeting to celebrate 73rd Traditional Day

PSNews - The Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a videoconference between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-2018), 13th anniversary of the movement "All people protecting national security", on August 16.

The event, which was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, drew generations of senior leaders, high level officials and outstanding youths in the Public Security Forces.

The event also saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Khanh Toan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Standing Deputy Minister of Pubic Security; Senior Lieutenant General Le The Tiem, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of Public Security; and other leaders and former senior leaders of the MPS.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam and the delegates recalled the glorious history of the Public Security Forces over the past 73 years, which has always associated with the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, has been led and trained by the Party and late President Ho Chi Minh and has received great support from the people. The Public Security Forces have grown up constantly, and successfully implemented the tasks of liberating and unifying the nation, protecting the Party, the people's government, and effectively serving the cause of national construction and development.

Over the past years, the movement "All people protecting national security" has been promoting in both depth and width. Since 2016, local police forces have built 2,000 "All people protecting national security" models nationwide, including hundreds of effective models, providing the police forces millions of pieces of valuable information in support of the police to crack down on thousands of cases, arrest nearly 200,000 criminals and hundreds criminal gangs. These results have aroused the national pride and sense of vigilance among people, and contributed significantly to strengthening the political system at the grassroots level, as well as to create a stable environment for economic, cultural and social development.

Minister To Lam also informed the delegates of the ongoing reorganization of the Public Security Forces’ apparatus in accordance with Decree 01 issued on August 6 by the Government.

Minister To Lam affirmed that, the cause of comprehensive renewal of the country in general, and the cause of ensuring security and order in particular have many opportunities but also challenges and difficulties. The missions of the Public Security Forces are therefore more demanding. On this occasion, the whole Public Security Forces should express deep gratitude to the Party, the State, the people as well as the great contribution of the previous generations.

The Minister also stated that the Public Security Forces would be always loyal to the Fatherland and the people, the Party and State; promote their achievements and glorious heroic traditions to excellently complete their assigned missions; continue to give good advice to the Party and State on crafting economic, social and foreign policies and strategies; ensure security, order and social safety; actively detect, prevent and defeat plots and attempts of political opportunists and hostile forces; resolutely fight criminals; and effectively resolve complex issues from the grassroots level to deserve the trust of the Party, the State and the people.

On behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Minister To Lam warmly welcomed and wished health to all leaders and former leaders of the MPS and retired officers of the Public Security Forces.

The Central Party Committee of Public Security and the MPS always respect and highly appreciate opinions contributed by the senior officials to the cause of protecting national security, maintaining social order, security, and building the public security forces. The Central Party Committee of Public Security and the MPS hope to continue to receive valuable ideas from former leaders and officers so as to build cleaner and stronger public security forces, and successfully accomplish all assigned tasks in the coming time.

At the meeting, the delegates were briefed by Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong on the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the 4th Meeting of the Party Central Committee (Tenure XII). Major General Luong Tam Quang, Head of the Office of the MPS also reported to the delegates the tasks performance of the forces in the first months of the year as well as the key tasks for the remaining months of 2018.
