Public Security Newspaper runs "Tet for the needy 2017" program
At the meeting, Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-chief of the Public Security Newspaper said: "We've been running this charity program for 16 years. Thanks to the support of many donors and sponsors, billions of VNDs and numerous meaningful gifts have been handed to needy people in Vietnam on the Tet occasion. Such noble acts demonstrate the compassion tradition of our nation. Today, the delegation of the Public Security Newspaper is proud to come and bring the Tet atmosphere to Ha Giang, the northernmost locality of Vietnam. We are going to come to the Central Highlands and southern Center of the country, which were damaged by the flooding. We will also go to other area across the country to bring a happy New Year to needy people," said the Editor-in-Chief.

Present at the meeting were also program's donors and sponsors who have been companying the Public Security Newspaper in charity activities for many years.
Thanks to generous donations by many enterprises such as Duy Loi Company, Phu Cuong Group, Martin Bicycle Company, Nutifood, and others, the "Tet for the needy 2017" program has received 4 billion VND.

Ngo Buu Khanh, a donor for the program from the very first years said: "Over last 16 years, many donors and sponsors have still supported the program, no matter how difficult the economy has been. It has demonstrated the humane meaning and paversiveness of the Public Security Newspaper’s charity programs. I myself promise to continue going with the Newspaper on the journey."
The "Tet for the needy 2017" program also received support from many famous artists, such as Meritorious artist Hong Van, artist Tong Son and many other singers.

Speaking at the program, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Public Security Forces extended his sincere thanks to the Public Security Newspaper and donors for their assistance for needy people in remote areas. On be haft of the General Department of Politics, he highly appreciated efforts of the Newspaper in running the "Tet for the needy" program, which bring a happy Tet atmosphere to needy people all over Vietnam.
Harmonica artist Tong Son said: "Although I'm now already 87 years old, and have been performing in the "Tet for the needy" program for many years, I still feel excited every time I participate in. I always feel happier when performing at a charity program than on a professional stage. I'm not a rich man but there are still many people living in a difficult state. So I hope we could support them by all means".
