Public Security Newspaper supports poor people in Lao Cai
PSNews – A social and charitable team of the Public Security Newspaper (PSN), donors and the Provincial Police of Lao Cai on January 8 visited and presented gifts to poor people in Lao Cai on the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

The charitable team visited and presented gifts to poor households in Phin Ngan commune, Bat Xat district, where the people still face various difficulties in life, particularly in the rainy season with high risks of flash floods.
Tan Lao Ta, Chairman of the Phin Ngan People’s Committee, shared that in the past few years, thanks to the care and support of authorities at all levels and efforts of the local authority and people, the rate of poor households in the commune has dropped considerably but is still at 34.8% due to unfavorable natural conditions such as perilous terrain and hash weather.
At the gift granting event, Major Cao Thi Hong, Vice Chief of the Division of Economic and Legal Affairs under the PSNews, elaborated on various charitable activities of the Newspaper, including “Tet for the poor”, and presented 100 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, donated by Duy Loi Company, to poor people and policy beneficiaries, in a hope that local people would have a warmer and better Tet.
The charitable team also visited Sa Pa commune, Sa Pa district, which is home to 1,083 households with 5,500 residents, 94% of whom is of the Mong ethnic group. Most of the local people earn their living from agricultural production. The charitable teams presented 100 gifts to 100 policy beneficiaries and poor students with high academic records in the commune.
