Public Security Newspaper visits injured police officer

PSNews – Representatives of the Public Security Newspaper in the Central Highlands on December 2 visited Senior Lieutenant Vuong Hoang Giap, who was injured while on duty.

Senior Lieutenant Vuong Hoang Giap is an officer of the Police Investigation Section for Social Order-Related Crimes under the Kon Tum Municipal Police.

According to Colonel Hua Viet Du, Head of the Kon Tum Municipal Police, at 1:30 on Nov. 30, Senior Lieutenant Vuong Hoang Giap was injured while trying to arrest a special wanted man, named Tran Trung Hung (aged 29, called Giong, resident of Dak Bla commune, Kon Tum city). On the run, Hung fired rifle AK at Senior lieutenant Giap and fled away.

After 2 days being treated at Kon Tum General Hospital, he is now recovering.

At the hospital, leaders of the Kon Tum Municipal Police and representatives from the Public Security Newspaper hailed his determination, effort and bravery in serving people and implementing tasks, and wished him recovery. They also encouraged the policeman to return to work soon and continue to contribute to ensuring social order and security for all people.

During the visit, representatives of the Public Security Newspaper also handed VND 3 million from its Fund to help Senior Lieutenant Vuong Hoang Giap overcome difficulties.

As reported, the Kon Tum Municipal Investigation Agency has made public a number of wanted notices for Tran Trung Hung as he is a drug addicted dangerous criminal.
