Public Security Schools celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day

On November 20, the People's Police University (PPU) held a grand ceremony to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security attended
Over the past 40 years, the PPU has been constantly growing, confirming its position in the tertiary education and training system. The school’s leaders and teachers of various generations have overcome many difficulties and excellently fulfilled their assigned tasks.
At this point, the school has 2 People's Teachers, 6 Meritorious teachers, 12 Professors and Associate Professors, 78 Doctors and 252 Masters. The school is running 176 classes with 15,259 undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition, the PPU also organizes training courses for police officers of the Cambodian Ministry of Internal Affairs and so far hundreds of Cambodian policemen have been graduated from the school.
In the academic year 2016-2017, 116 teachers of the school received the ministerial-level “Excellent Teacher” title while 26 teachers were recognized by the school as good teachers.
The PPU received the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Government, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics and the Ministry of Education and Training in the academic year 2016-2017. It was also awarded the Sahametrsy Friendship Medal by the Cambodian Government for its outstanding achievements in training officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
* On same day, in Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Police College 2 (PPC2) held a grand ceremony to observe the Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security attended and delivered a speech at the event.
Major General, Associate. Professor. Vu Duc Khien, Director of the PPC2 said: “Over the past 40 years, the PPC2 has remarkably developed. Currently, the school has 250 teachers and officers with various postgraduate degrees and academic titles. The school has trained nearly 100,000 students at the intermediate and upper-intermediate levels for police officers in southern provinces.
In the academic year 2016-2017, the PPC2 successfully completed the assigned tasks and received the Emulation Flag from the Ministry of Public Security. There were 57 teachers recognized as excellent teachers at the school level; 23 teachers recognized as excellent teachers at the ministerial level; many of its subordinate units received Excellent Emulation Flags from higher authorities.
Addressing the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Muoi urged the school to uphold and promote its traditional values, and strive to complete its noble and glorious missions, contributing to developing generations of police officers with firm political stance and good morals and high competence to successfully fulfill any assigned tasks.
