PSNews – Da Nang finally enjoyed sunlight after days of heavy rains, on November 7. The better weather made the missions of the public security forces – maintaining security and order during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 less difficult.

In the past days, forces of the Da Nang Municipal Police and professional units under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) had to work in the unfavorable weather conditions, to ensure security for the APEC events.

Senior Colonel Le Van Tam, Director of the Da Nang Police, said:

“We have deployed various plans to ensure security for APEC 2017 since the beginning of this year. Now, we have held the initiative in protecting security in the city. Despite the heavy rains in the past few days, police officers in charge of the city’s security and order have managed to fulfill their given tasks,” said Senior Colonel Le Van Tam.

In addition, Da Nang police developed and deployed security plans on enhancing the management of the political security situation, controlling criminal activities and proactively grasping information related to economic and social security.

So far, the city’s police have assigned relevant units to ensure security and order at important venues, convention centers, press center, tourist sites; implemented the plans for traffic order and safety, anti-terrorism and anti-crime while protecting communications networks and focusing on security checks.

In addition to the public security forces, military units have also been deployed to engage in the protection of military-related areas, including airports, Son Tra peninsula, and sea areas. The armed forces at the municipal and ministerial levels have prepared comprehensive plans to coordinate and support each other in all situations.
