Public security officers get vaccinated against COVID-19

PSNews – 19-8 Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on April 12 continued to carry out the Astra Zeneca vaccination drive for public security officers and soldiers in Hanoi. 

19-8 Hospital is in charge of vaccinating officers and soldiers of public security agencies and units under the MPS stationed in Hanoi.

In the first phase of the vaccination, 850 officers and soldiers working on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic will be vaccinated.

On April 12, lecturers and students at the People’s Security Academy got first jabs with AstraZeneca vaccine.

According to Colonel Do Thi Le Thuy, Deputy Director of 19-8 Hospital, the hospital has well prepared both human resources and medical equipment for the vaccination drive in accordance with the regulations.

Before the vaccination drive, 150 medical workers of 19-8 Hospital who would participate directly in the vaccination drive had been vaccinated. Now, all of them are in a stable health condition. 
According to the plan, officers and soldiers at agencies and units under the MPS in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City will be vaccinated.

Senior Colonel Hoang Minh Tuan, Heal of the Social Security Department under the People's Security Academy said that he felt honored to be one of the first public security officers to be vaccinated this time.

Vietnamese health authorities have given emergency use approval for the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, the first COVID-19 vaccine to obtain such authorisation in the country.
Five million people, mostly frontline workers, will be given the first jab, with the second (booster shot) to be administered in three months when the next batch is delivered.
In the coming time, 19-8 Hospital will carry out 2 other vaccination drives, which will be about 3 months apart.
