Quang Binh police help student in flooded area return to school
In early September, torrential rains brought by a tropical depression were recorded from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue. In many areas, total rainfall rose to over 1,000mm, causing widespread flooding in low areas, leading to heavy loss in human lives and property.
As of September 4, at least four people were killed and eight others remain missing in the provinces. The hardest-hit localities were Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
Recent heavy rains have also badly damaged hundreds of schools in the Central provinces of Quang Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, preventing teachers and students from going to school.
Phu Hoa Secondary School in Phu Hoa district, Quang Binh province was one of the hardest-hit schools by the recent natural disaster, as the school's facilities were terribly devastated.
As soon as the floods went away, the Quang Binh Provincial Police has mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to support people in critically flooded areas, and teachers in cleaning up their homes and school facilities after the recent flooding, helping them settle down their lives and reopen schools.
In Phu Hoa Secondary School, the police in collaboration with local teachers and people cleaned up the schools and surrounding areas, and arranged classrooms for the new academic year.
