Quang Nam Traffic Police work tirelessly to help people deal with historic flooding
PSNews - With the aim of helping people safely move through the flooded sections caused by the historic heavy rain as well as evacuate people to safe places, the traffic police force of Quang Nam has been mobilized 100% to work these days.
Historic levels of rainfall caused severe flooding in the central city of Da Nang on December 8 and 9. Many streets throughout Da Nang were inundated with floodwater. Floodwater poured into the basement of a high-rise residential building, submerging many motorbikes and other vehicles within.
Therefore, the traffic police force of Quang Nam in collaboration with emergency services battled to aid trapped residents in Da Nang city amid torrential rain as well as help people safely move through the flooded sections.
According to the latest news, a man from Tam Ky city located in the central province of Quang Nam has been swept away by floodwater on the morning of December 9.
The man named as Ngo Binh, 64, residing in An My ward, was on Dien Bien Phu road when he fell into a pond area and was swept away by rapid floodwater at 9pm.
After receiving notification of the news, local authorities sent a rescue team to search for the victim. Nguyen Hong Quang, Chairman of Tam Ky city’s People’s Committee, said the committee had instructed the rescue team to continue their search for the victim.
