Quang Ninh Police forces promote management over migrant laborers

The police forces in Quang Ninh, where a large number of Vietnamese and foreign workers and experts work and live, have had various effective approach to manage the province’s changing population due to migrant workers, contributing to ensuring security and order as well as to preventing crimes and social evils.

Ha Long city is home to more than 1,700 inns in residential areas, nearly 200 shelters and more than 700 apartment rooms for rent with a total of over 16,000 people from other localities living temporarily.

The Police Station of Ha Long has requested owners of the accommodation establishments to regularly and exactly make resident and health declarations for renters as well as renters’ travel records.

At the same time, the Ha Long police also promote information dissemination on COVID-19 to raise people’s awareness of disease prevention and fight.

The city’s police have so far deployed joint force teams, including criminal and administrative police officers, to patrol and manage the situation in various wards, said Colonel Do Tuan Ngoc, Vice Head of the Police Station of Ha Long.

The police teams focus on hotspots of security and order, and identify subjects from other localities who may take advantage of the complicated situation of the epidemic to commit crimes or cause social disturbances.

In Hai Ha district, the authorities and functional forces always strictly implement measures to ensure security in the locality, especially at inns and hostels.

Hai Ha has five communes in the Mong Cai Border Gate Economic Zone and the Texhong Industrial Park. So it is home to about 10,000 workers from various localities, who are temporarily living in 1,728 rooms of various motels.

The district’s police have ordered professional teams to coordinate with local police forces to disseminate the Law on Residence and various legal documents to the landlords and renters.

The Hai Ha District Police Station also regularly keeps records of the renting establishments and migrant workers. They focus on Quang Ha town, Quang Phong and Quang Chinh communes which are nearby the Texhong Industrial Park. Up to now, through checking and grasping the situation, 100% of the inns in the area keep records of their renters and are committed to ensuring public order and security and preventing fire and explosion while most renters seriously observe regulations on temporary residence and absence.
