Scientific research of history and museum of public security tradition reviewed

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security held a conference on December 7th afternoon, in Hanoi, to summarize the work of scientific research of history and museum of the public security forces tradition.

The conference also rolled out a new Directive on the work until 2020 with a vision toward 2030. Senior Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security attended the conference.

Lieutenant General, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Muoi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics briefed the five-year summary report on the implementation of the Public Security Ministry’s Directive No.14, articulating that the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Public Security Ministry have taken due care of and closely directed research activities of scientific research of history and museum of the public security forces tradition, especially key and major research projects, over the past years.

After five years, local public security units compiled nearly 1000 projects and published over 300 projects; completed the summaries on public security history in the 1954 – 1975 period, history of the Central Public Security Party Committee in the 1945 – 2015 period, as well as collected and received over 50,000 historical artifacts.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics and the History Institute of Public Security presented certificates of merit to individuals and organizations with their outstanding achievement.

Addressing the conference, Minister To Lam instructed leaders of public security agencies and units at all levels to raise their awareness of the important role of scientific research of history and museum of the public security forces tradition.

In addition, relevant units should continue researching and completing the theoretical system of the public security forces; focus on training and education of history and tradition of the forces; plan the public security museum system towards modernization; and promote international cooperation on these areas.
