Security tightened in Hanoi during 13th National Party Congress

PSNews - Police forces have been deployed to roads and public places to ensure absolute safety for the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the most important political event of the country in the past five years.

The 13th National Party Congress officially opened in Hanoi on January 26, with the participation of 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide.

On January 25, the delegates to the 13th National Party Congress gathered at the National Convention Center in Hanoi for a preparatory session, during which they adopted the working regulations of the congress.

All assigned forces are requested to be on duty 24/24 during the event, which is scheduled to conclude in February 2.

According to PSNews' correspondents, security has been tightened at the National Convention Center since the morning of January 25. 

Functional units of the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense have deployed forces and means to ensure security and safety for the delegates and the congress as a whole. Security forces are also deployed to roads next to the venue of the congress and are ready to handle any unexpected situations.

Various security units, the Security Guard Police High Command, the Mobile Police High Command, the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security are in close coordination with the Hanoi Municipal Police Department to take measures to protect the venue of the congress as well as routes for transportation of the delegates and accommodations of the delegates.

All assigned forces are requested to be on duty 24/24 during the event, which is scheduled to conclude in February 2.
