Son La Police roll out working plan 2020

The Son La Provincial Police Department on January 5th held a conference to review its task performance in 2019 and implement its working plan for 2020. Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

In 2019, the Son La Provincial Police Department made a big success in the fight against crime while discovering 2,633 criminal cases in total. According to the general report, 93.07% of the criminal cases were successfully investigated while 100% of the serious cases were resolved.

The drug-related crime in the province was under control. During the year, the local police investigated 1,036 drug-related cases, seized 54kg of heroin, 10kg opium and 16kg methamphetamine.

Further, the local police also promoted international cooperation with their counterparts from Northern Lao provinces.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam hailed and congratulated the Son La Provincial Police on their achievements in 2019. He highlighted some key tasks that the Son La Police should focus on in 2020. These include enhancing the fight against all kinds of black credit-related crimes, drug crimes, inter-provincial and transnational crimes.

In the coming time, the Son La Police should deploy functional forces to effectively maintain security and social order as well as traffic safety during the Tet holiday and Spring festivals.

On this occasion, under the authority of the President, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam presented the Second-class Military Exploit order to the Moc Chau District Police Station under the Son La Provincial Police Department.
