Swimming and volleyball events of the 8th Sport Festival "For Homeland Security" open

The Ministry of Public Security on June 18 held the Opening Ceremony of the swimming event and the men’s volleyball final in the framework of the 8th Sport Festival “For Homeland Security” in Dong Hoi city, QuangBinh province.

The "For Homeland Security" Sport Festival is a major sporting program of the People's Public Security Forces that is held in every five years. The 8th Sport Festivaltook place from August 2019 to August 2020 with 13 sport events.

56 sport delegations from departments and units of the MPS and provincial-level police departments nationwide have participated in the sport festival.

Regarding volleyball event, 15 men's volleyball teams who have won the qualifying matches are participating in the finale. Meanwhile, 210 swimming athletes started competing in swimming events.

Earlier, the organizing panel and local police made good preparations for the sport events as scheduled.  What is more, the organizing committee and the athletes also strictly followed the regulations of the Government, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Public Security and Quang Binh province on prevention and control of COVID-19.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Le Quoc Hung said that the festival would encourage all public security officers and soldiers to pay more attention to physical training. According to him, public security officers and soldiers should have good health to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
