Professional communal police officers restore public order and security in Dong Thap.

The deployment of professional police officers to communes in the Southern province of Dong Thap has brought about fruitful outcomes in terms of security and order in the province.

The Dong Thap Provincial Police Department has posted 637 professional police officers to all 126 communes and townships in the province, in line with the program on regularizing the communal police force initiated by the Ministry of Public Security. This has contributed to realizing the province police’s effort to ensure local security and order at the grassroots levels.

Of the newly deployed police officers, 126 officers were appointed as chiefs of communal police posts, and 158 others were appointed as deputy chiefs of communal police posts. All officers deployed to communes have their good qualifications and experience in dealing with different grassroots-level situations.

Additionally, the Party cells of the communal police posts have actively advised the local Party committees and authorities on the work of protecting local security and order.

In return, communal Party committees and authorities have effectively supported the commissioned police officers in communes in Dong Thap in performing their duties of ensuring security and order at grassroots level.

Since January 2020, police officers in all communes of Dong Thap have detected nearly 1,500 cases related to security and order, of which they directly investigated 845 cases. The remainders were handled with the support from the superior police units.

Tran Minh Tuan, Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Phu Huu commune in Chau Thanh district, praised the presence of the professional police officers in his commune, saying that the deployment of professional police officers to Phu Huu commune brought significant results in terms of security and order situation in the province.

In order to continuously improve capacity of communal police officers so that they can better perform their duties, the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department has organized various workshops and training courses over the past time to equip the local police force with updated information and knowledge as well as professional skills.
