Security cameras operate effectively in Bac Giang
In recent years, Bac Giang Province has installed camera systems on many key roads and areas. A number of local households in the Bac Giang City have already installed their own security cameras, which has created a network of cameras, helping maintain security in the city and making a significant contribution to crime prevention and fight.
Thanks to the camera systems, Bac Giang police discovered and successfully investigated hundreds of property theft and robbery cases, as well as dozens of traffic accidents and intentional injury cases.
For example, through the camera systems, the local police detected a robbery case in which the criminals used new tricks at Dao Su Tich 1 Street, Ngo Quyen Ward, Bac Giang City and identified the thief as Bui Van Tuan (residing in Hoang Mai, Hanoi).
Lang Giang District has been the first locality in Bac Giang Province to install security camera. To build a comprehensive security camera network, the local police mobilized local households to install their own security cameras on one hand, and they coordinated with local social organizations to establish mass national security protection models with the employment of security cameras.
Thanks to the images recorded by the local security cameras, the district police have discovered many cases that would have come to a dead end because there were no pieces of evidence or clues at the scene.
Especially, in 2020, many interprovincial robbery cases were discovered by the Lang Giang District police thanks to the local security camera system in the area.
According to Major Phan Van Chinh, Head of the Lang Giang Criminal Investigation Team, the “magical eye” helps track the law-breakers and detect their identities, and deter people with bad intentions from committing crime.
Moreover, security cameras also help parents monitor their children at home, know what happens around their homes so they can promptly report unusual security issues to the police.
In November 2020, Viet Yen District, Bac Giang Province established the “security camera” model in Bai Bo street, Nhu Thiet village, Hong Thai commune.
As a results, the number of theft and robbery cases, as well as pavement encroachment and littering cases has decreased significantly.
In 2020, over 100 new security cameras, including 10 automated license plate readers, were installed in Viet Yen District.
In Hiep Hoa District, the local police in collaboration with local authorities and organizations installed over 30 security cameras, including automated license plate readers, in 10 key and security-complex places in the locality. These cameras can operate through all weather conditions.
According to Colonel Nguyen Quoc Toan, Director of the Bac Giang Provincial Police Department, the synchronous deployment of security camera systems in Bac Giang Province’s localities contributes to fighting against crime, and helps local police units to connect and exchange, receive security and order information from the local people
