Thanh Hoa to take drastic measures to curb illegal sand-mining

PSNews – The police force of Thanh Hoa has detected and handled 109 cases of illegally exploiting sand and gravel, and fined nearly VND 2 billion.

In 2017, 16 cases of illegal sand-mining were detected and handled by the Environmental Police of Thanh Hoa; 7 cases by the Waterway Police and 86 cases by district- and town-level police units.
In recent times, the Provincial Police of Thanh Hoa also coordinated with relevant agencies to list legal sand mines, advised the local authorities to manage natural and mineral resources effectively.
The police units of Thanh Hoa, especially in localities with sand mines, have promoted patrols, checks and management to promptly detect and handle any violations.
