The military and police review implementation of Decree No.77/2010/ND-CP

PSNews – The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security on January has just held a working session to review the implementation in 2016 of Decree No.77/2010/ND-CP issued on July 12th, 2010 by the Government.

In 2016, under the direction of the Central Military Commission, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the two ministries; local authorities, military and police units at all level effectively implemented Decree No.77 and Inter-ministerial Circular No.07 issued by the two Ministries.

This cooperation helped ensure absolute safety for all important political, cultural, external events of the country and in localities. The two ministries coordinated closely in dealing with complex security, social order issues, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic and cultural development.

In 2016, the two ministries promoted coordination and reaped large fruits in 8 areas. The two sides focused on combating against organized crime and smuggling in border areas and border gates; cracking down on a number of drug trafficking cases; denying firework from entering the country during the festive season.

The Investigation Agency under the National Defense Ministry in collaboration with investigation police agencies resolved serious cases in accordance with the law.

The Criminal Investigation Department under the National Defense Ministry and the Wanted Fugitive Hunting Police Department collaborated closely in arresting dangerous and most wanted fugitives in the past 2 years. The Border Guard and the Coast Guard forces in collaboration with the police force investigated 110 specialized cases, cracked down on 216 cases and arrested 582 suspects.

Addressing the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam highly appreciated all positive outcomes of the two sides, while applauding 10 good reports relating to the implementation of Decree No.77 submitted by the Public Security and the Military units to the organizing board.

According to delegates at the meeting, the situation of crime in 2017 remain complex and critical, which requires the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense to continuously implement Decree No.77 as well as to review the current laws and regulations with the aim to perfect the legal system.

To conclude the meeting, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang stressed that: “In 2017, the two ministries should closely cooperate in combating against crimes, especially human and drug trafficking crimes, hi-tech crimes and foreign crimes; and maintaining stability and peace for the country and people, contributing to promoting national socio-economic development.
